Kindred BIPOC Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that we are offering a scholarship place for a BIPOC student for our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training starting April 2026.

Kindred is all about community, and our mantra has always been to create a space where everyone feels welcome and included whilst nurturing their practice. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity to someone from a marginalised community.

The yoga & wellness industry has notoriously lacked diversity and focused primarily on white affluent women. The tide is changing and we strongly feel it is our responsibility to be part of this change and help end systemic racism.

Offering a BIPOC scholarship place is part of our commitment to ensuring a welcoming, safe and inclusive space for BIPOC students on the teacher training and at the studio. Kindred has also provided a Racial Equity Training with Dr Stacie Graham and Yoga Equity Training with Kallie Schut. This training helps ensure that our graduating students do so with a deep understanding of the importance of their role regarding equality and anti-racism in the yoga industry.

The Kindred 200hr YTT takes unique look at yoga humanities. Led by Kallie Schut, the modules History of Yoga and Philosophy include teachings on cultural appropriation in yoga and the colonisation of yoga. We also welcome to the teaching faculty Dr Stacie Graham, teaching the module Racial Equity in Yoga, to empower students to cultivate equity and inclusion within yoga spaces.
