Bookings and cancellations
Cancellation policy
Is it possible to cancel my place on a training before the course begins?
We understand that life happens and plans change. If you need to cancel your place on a training for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible by email to school@kindredyogalife.com.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
If you cancel your place on a training more than 8 weeks before the start date:
50% of the total training cost is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The remaining 50% of the total training cost is refundable or transferable to another training, within the next 18 months, less a £30 administration fee.
If you cancel your place on the training less than 8 weeks before the start date:
Unfortunately, no part of the total training cost is refundable or transferable.
In extenuating circumstances, Kindred School of Yoga may agree to refund or transfer to another training some or all of the training cost. Requests will be dealt with at the sole discretion of Kindred School of Yoga, on a case by case basis.
Am I able to receive a refund after the course has begun?
Once the course has begun, you have committed to the course and unfortunately no refunds can be issued.
If you have to leave the training once it has started at any point, Kindred School of Yoga will not be able to offer a partial refund for the remainder of the course and will not be able to transfer your place to a future training.
If you must withdraw from the program for special circumstances such as a serious illness, injury, change in circumstances or bereavement, Kindred School of Yoga will unfortunately not be able to give any refund. It is up to the discretion of Kindred School of Yoga if any remaining modules can be deferred to a future training.
What happens if a training is cancelled by Kindred School of Yoga?
In extremely rare cases, a training may be cancelled due to exceptional circumstances or low enrolment.
If this occurs, prior to the course starting, you will be offered a full refund in GBP or the option to transfer to another event. We are not liable for additional expenses (e.g., travel, accommodation, exchange rates) and we suggest that you take travel insurance to cover any such costs.
If the course is cancelled partway through :
a) The remainder will be rescheduled; or
b) A pro-rata refund will be offered based on sessions already delivered.
What happens if a training location is changed?
The location of a training may change at the discretion of Kindred School of Yoga at any time. If the course location changes, a venue within close proximity of the original venue will be sourced.
Training travel
School of Yoga takes no responsibility for your travel to the training destination, cancellation of flights or any other external expenses, and will not be held responsible for any refunds and charges incurred associated with travel to the training.
School of Yoga will not be able to refund the training costs if for any reason you are unable to attend the training such as air travel disruption, missed flights, Covid or any other circumstances.
Travel insurance
Our priority is to keep you as safe and happy as possible. Unfortunately, we can’t always control everything and so if you are participating in a Kindred School of Yoga training, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance.
We suggest you:
purchase travel insurance from the moment of your booking so you are protected in the unfortunate case of something arising before you travel to ensure that you are covered for any lost costs and flights;
purchase full cover for flight cancellation, delay and curtailment, medical expenses and personal belongings;
ensure your policy covers any sports, including yoga, you participate in during the retreat (please note some insurances do not automatically extend to these).
Extraordinary circumstances beyond our control
If we are required to cancel your booking due to unforeseeable and unavoidable circumstances such as war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural and nuclear disaster, epidemics and pandemics, we will communicate transparently about how much we are able to refund of the monies paid by you.
Attendance
To meet Yoga Alliance US regulations, it is compulsory to attend 100% of the modules.
Please ensure that you are able to fully commit to the training and the dates prior to registration.
Any modules or sessions you miss will need to be completed before graduation with the teacher. All missed modules will need to be arranged and paid for by the student to the teacher directly, at the teachers’ rates.
School of Yoga reserves the right to remove a student for bad conduct. Bad conduct is violation of the Code of Conduct, harassment, bullying, or any other behavior that is inappropriate or disruptive to the welfare of the training or to fellow students. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
Bad Conduct
Liability and injury
It is your responsibility to communicate any injuries or restrictions we should be aware of before participating in any of our trainings.
Ahead of trainings, we will request this information from you and will ask you to sign a liability waiver stating that you understand that yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment; you should consult a physician prior to beginning any activity program, including yoga; you recognize that it is your responsibility to notify the teacher(s) of any serious illness or injury, or pregnancy, before every yoga class; and you will not perform any postures to the extent of strain or pain.
Photography and video
At times we might have a photographer in attendance, to take photos and videos to be used by Kindred School of Yoga for promotion, social media and marketing purposes.
Ahead of time, we will inform you if a photographer will be in attendance and will provide you the opportunity to opt out if you do not wish to be included in any photographs or videos during the training.
