elodie frati - anatomy & physiology

Elodie's memory of anatomy on yoga teacher training is mostly a blur of sitting there with someone talking at her for a few hours whilst listing a bunch of Latin words. Whilst she was always fascinated by anatomy, this never seemed like the most engaging way to share all this goldmine of information.

Whilst there is inevitably a degree of memorisation when it comes to learning about the human body, it should feel relevant and applicable to your field... particularly on yoga teacher training! You will learn about body structure, physiology, individual anatomy (i.e. why your neighbour might be able to do a pose that might remain inaccessible to you), adaptation of the practice for injury, effective cueing, and you will also dip your toe into pain science!

Movement is one of the fundamentals of healthy living, and yoga teachers have the privilege of allowing people to discover the joy, power and safety of movement... when well informed! You can also expect a lot of interaction and practical application, as well as looking at some of the common parlance of the yoga world, and whether it has any root in physical reality!

In 2017, Elodie joined the UCO to gain an undergraduate masters in osteopathy. She has since been teaching anatomy on reputable teacher training courses. She aims to make these lessons as engaging and interactive as possible with a good dose of realism injected into the mix.
